Buy MCX gold at Rs 19,010-19,030 : Kedia
Gold prices traded in a narrow range on lack of triggers as the US market was shut for Labor Day. Trading volumes are low and prices are sluggish as the US market is closed due to Labor Day holiday. Strong US manufacturing and non-farm payroll data last week had dulled gold`s safe-haven appeal. Expectations of a rise in physical demand from India, the world`s largest consumer, during the festival season are supporting prices. India is seen importing 504.5 tons of gold in 2010, up from the last year`s 480 tons. In spot gold looks to have a support at USD 1,238 and resistance at USD 1,258, said Ajay Kedia, managing director, Kedia Commodities.

Commodity strategies for gold and crude : INDIA INFOLINE
Q: You are bullish on gold today?
A: Yes, if you see the last week’s movement internationally around USD 1,255 per ounce to USD 1,237 per ounce. The important support has held very well at USD 1,234 per ounce, that suggests that buy on dips is a strategy. On a downside, USD 1,220 per ounce and USD 1,225 per ounce are likely to be held very well. There I can see the short-term rally to start and you can see USD 1,258 and USD 1,266 per ounce to break.
But from the current market price of USD 1,248 per ounce, I don’t see the rally will sustain and it can go higher above USD 1,266 per ounce. Buy on dips is a strategy in the international market. In the domestic market, around Rs 18,950-18,930 per 10gm is a good level to buy with a stop loss of Rs 18,900 per 10gm for a target price of Rs 19,040 or Rs 19,080 per 10gm can be seen in today’s market.
Q: You are bearish on crude though, you have got a sell out today?
A: Definitely. It is exactly in the opposite direction. From the last one week we are seeing that when gold is going up, crude is coming down. On a rally around Rs 3,480-3,485 in domestic market, one can sell with a stop loss of Rs 3,515-3,520 for a target price of Rs 3,440 or even Rs 3,400 can be seen.
